The Physics Project for June - July 2010

Class XI B

Collect details of GUT and String Theory

Each student will collect details of the theories from all possible sources, compile it and post to this blog.

The blog entries can be submitted anytime but must get it reviewed before 15 July so that the corrected entries can be made available for final evaluation and then for access by Public from 1 August onwards.

The students will be invited by email and from the link provided on the email, the students will be able to join this blog as contributors and then they can start posting their findings, articles, photos, images, videos etc as blog entries.

The Amazing Big Bang Theory We all are familiar of the term the universe and the Milky Way galaxy but there was a time billions of years ago when none of these existed. We can’t even imagine it right? Well this is true and our universe, the galaxies all began with a bang, a big bang. The String Theory is a recent trend or theory is physics which is attempting to formulate a theory to harmonize quantum mechanics and general relativity.It is trying to prove that electrons and quarks in the nucleus are not zero-dimensional,but rather uni-dimensional oscillating lines called strings.It is said to possess only length and no other dimension.
